1. What is the objective of Department of International Trade? Changes in the world economy and information technologies brought in the demand for human resources that have contemporary knowledge and international skills. In order to fill this gap, Department of International Trade was established in 1996 and aimed to contribute global competitive advantage of Turkey with its graduates. 2. What are the basic characteristics of Department of International Trade Curriculum? Distinct from the curriculum of general business administration programs and in addition to basic management and economics courses, students take diverse specialization courses including entrepreneurship, banking, insurance, international trade law, international logistics and transportation, international retailing and franchising. Some of the departmental elective courses are given by part time faculty who have a strong academic background and who are leading professionals in their fields. 3. What are the courses given in Department of International Trade? 4. Is there an opportunity to take a second foreign language course? The language of instruction is English. Department of International Trade students are required to take six semesters of a second foreign language course (such as German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian) other than English. 5. Is internship compulsory? Following the second and third years of education, students are required to complete a total of 70 days internship in organizations approved by the Department. Internships can be completed either in Turkey or abroad; overseas internships are encouraged. 6. What is Double Major? Are there any opportunities for Double Major at Department of International Trade? During their undergraduate education, students in one department may simultaneously follow another undergraduate program related to their major field of study with departments within the same School or another School. Such programs of education are referred to as the "Double Major Programs." Students of Department of International Trade can follow “double major” programs with the Departments of Management Information Systems and Tourism Administration. Double Major Requirements are determined by the departments. 7. What is an “exchange program”? Can INTT students benefit from these programs? An exchange program is an opportunity granted to successful students. Boğaziçi University encourages students to study abroad for one or two semesters. In addition to the Erasmus Exchange Program for European countries, Boğaziçi University has partnerships with a large number of colleges and universities in U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Europe, China, and Japan. 8. Are there any extracurricular activities available for students? Extracurricular activities have a prominent place at Boğaziçi University. Students of Department of International Trade are active participants in university student clubs that appeal to their interests. Students are encouraged to take part in departmental activities like seminars and conferences. Student council membership is another channel for student participation. 9. In which organizations do INTT graduates work? Graduates of the Department of International Trade work at managerial positions in distinguished national/multinational organizations or run their own businesses.
